Get Involved in European Heritage Open Days (EHOD) 2026

European Heritage Open Days (EHOD), the annual free event celebrating local architecture, history and culture across Northern Ireland, is back this year on September 12th and 13th.

This year’s theme Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine invites organisers to explore the stories behind the places they care about, airing the physical sites with human voices, memories, crafts and culture to help bring it to life for the public.

Who can take part?

Any individual or organisation with a heritage connection can take part, including but not limited to: private homes, historic buildings, museums, churches, community  groups, archives, and arts spaces.

Events may include guided tours, talks, exhibitions, family activities, open days, performances, trails, online content, or demonstrations.

The essential requirement is free public access in the spirit of European Heritage Days.
